RESEARCH
LEARNING FROM BARCELONA
Would your company, project or research benefit from urban design and green infrastructure benchmark projects, best practices and strategies in Spain or other parts of Europe?
Landscape architects and urban designers are usually too busy with project work to delve into research and investigate best practice projects and strategies, while urban planners, policy makers and researchers often lack knowledge of practical implementation of strategies. I can bridge this gap. As a landscape architect with more than 15 years work experience in Australia and Europe, I can offer a critical review and give advice regarding practical implementation of urban strategies and programs in a specific Australian context.
Barcelona, like many other European cities, offers an incredible range of innovative urban design projects, community initiatives and government strategies. An example of one of the current programs being implemented is the Superblock, part of the City of Barcelona’s Ecosystemic Urbanism strategy, that presents valuable lessons for urban regeneration and expansion. Green infrastructure and climate change adaptation, specifically in Europe’s hot Southern regions, are further current topics where local benchmark projects can provide valuable input.
If you would like to add a European perspective to inform and enhance your design or planning strategy, research or government program, here is what I can do for you.
